OT: NBA Draft

Interesting speculation that the Celtics will trade down to get 2 top 10 picks while Sixers move up to draft Fultz and Kings move up to draft Fox.

I think it works out for everyone.

What is the conclusion of this chart? Lonzo Ball, Zach Collins and John Collins are the best players in the draft?

I don't know if this should go in this thread, or Dyce's YouTube thread (since that's also a draft related thread).

But decent read.

Also, I'd still like to know the exact site of Galletti's chart.

Sixers moving up to draft Fultz rumor is gaining traction. They would have an impressive young big 3 with Fultz, Simmons and Embiid.

Can't tell if Lakers are fading on Ball or if that is all a smokescreen.

The fact that Lakers and Boston are willing to trade down makes me think there are a lot of good players but no franchise-level players in the draft.

Boston trading the first pick gave them enough cap room to offer Hayward a max deal

I can't see Hayward signing with Boston . It took him 7 years to be an All Star. He won't be one with Boston with Thomas and Horford there. The fact that's it's his former college coach means little imo.

Boston will regret not drafting Fultz... he's a franchise player...

If Jackson is also a franchise player, and Boston drafts him, then won't they be happy anyways?

Also, considering Hayward likes to play tennis (and plays in tourneys over summer), Utah has better tennis courts than the broken streets of Boston.

Minnesota is also a better fit for him.  He can still be an All-Star and a leading scorer there.

Well then if not Hayward, Boston has more space to get Paul George or Jimmy Butler

The Philadelphia 76ers held discussions with the Chicago Bulls for Jimmy Butler before they moved up from No. 3 to No. 1 to trade Markelle Fultz.

The Bulls were seeking the No. 3 pick from the 76ers for Butler.

With the Celtics owning the third overall pick now, they are hopeful of trading it to the Bulls in a package for Butler and then sign Gordon Hayward in free agency while also keeping Isaiah Thomas and Marcus Smart. The Celtics also pursued a trade for Butler last offseason.

Boston is confident they have the best chance of any team of signing Hayward away from the Utah Jazz.

Durant's legacy would have been so much better for him if he had gone to Boston. It would have been risker for getting a title, but if they had him and that war chest of picks they could have built a hell of a team and he would have gotten all the credit for it instead of people saying he took the easy way out. I don't remember ever seeing a contender with this many high value picks to work with as assets

Another hypothetical.  What if he had somehow signed with Cleveland in 2016, and said he wanted to join a team that could defeat the Warriors (the team that beat him in the 2016 playoffs).

What would you think of him joining the current champions, but with his publicly declared motivation being to win a championship while beating the team that last eliminated him?

Let's say it was only a 1 year deal, because he's not going to take a pay cut longterm.

How would you feel about him if Cleveland had won the championship with him?  Let's even give him the Finals MVP.

I think it would have been just as weak. Those are pretty much the only 2 teams that the 2nd best player in the league should have not joined because if he wants to be considered all time great he should be trying to beat them. Even joining the Spurs would have been acceptable in my book.

I'm just not sure which Twitter handle is his, as I'm finding different things.  Like statistical things by Arturo Alvarez, etc.

Thank you.

Ok, your Real GM takes me to basketballnumbers.com.

That's different from the 2 sites that he contributed for, in .

And here's his Draft Ratings!  Yeah!  I guess @JGlanton thought it was from Twitter.
