Oh I have a good one for this election.

Judicial Office No. 113

There is a guy running named Steve Schriner.

He appears to be well qualified for the office. LA Times and LA County Bar Association both gave him a good qualification rating, and he has some good endorsements.

However, it came out last minute that this is that guy, from his actual facebook page:

My public defender friend called him and asked if that was his real page, and he wouldn't talk about it. She asked a bunch of other people, in both the public defenders office and the district attorneys office, and they confirmed that is his real facebook page, that is what he thinks, and to not vote for him.

Some places pulled their endorsement, and some places didn't get the message in time.

For me, I voted for Ribbons. But, there is a third person running for that position that should be fine too. But...don't vote for Steve. He's a creep.

I did go out and vote.  I picked judges at random like most people do and did not happen to pick this guy.  Which may not help much since he is listed first on the ballot which is a big advantage.  This guy does sound like he is way too ignorant to be a judge.  I voted for all the ballot measures.  Voted for Villaraigosa to try and keep Cox off of the November ballot.  I hope we can find a worthy successor to Brown.  The guy has done a very good job the last eight years.

Is Schriner trying to say that because there were so many other wrongs (other examples of slavery), that focus on Black slavery should be less?

Or is he trying to say that there should be more steps to correct other slavery, and increase retributions for other slavery (while not lessing retributions) for Black slavery?

I have a feeling he's saying the former, but it is possible (and I'd rather hope) that he's saying the latter.

I think he's a racist on some level, which was plenty enough for me to not vote for him to be a judge.

If you don't mind, what was the official position he was running for?

How was it labeled?

Does it cost money to have a statement?  As in a per word fee?

Because some of the ones for Governor were bad.  One guy's statement was "Why not?"

There were things I liked about Eastin, Girard, Jones, Allen, and Shellenberger.

I went with Josh Jones.
