Glad to see you are alive and well.   Turns out the board’s toxicity wasnt caused by you after all.  How can this be?

Also please consider stopping by from time to time if you enjoy it.

Doc did find a diamond in the rough.  Joe Ingles.  Doc just kind of gave him away though.

Rhy: Bledsoe for Dudley and JJ:  It wasn't a great trade and it wasn't a terrible trade.  Somewhere in between.  That being said, at this point, if I could go back in time, I still wouldn't do the trade.  JJ played well - as well as he can - and did what he was brought to do - be a shooting guard to CP.  But Bledsoe was the better player over the last four years.  And I believe he'll be the better player over the next four years too.  But....the issue can be discussed on 'fit'.  The Clips had their Pgod.  They needed a shooter, right?  But you know what, they also needed - as all teams do - a third guard, that backup PG who can also play with a PG.

Our backup Point guards in the four years we had JJ were bad in three of those four years were really bad:  (Collison, Rivers, Rivers, Rivers).  Basketball trades are not completely in a vacuum.  Why not have Bledsoe and then go out and get a shooter with the money we gave to Collison and Austin?  (the years don't totally link here, but you get the idea).  I liked JJ a lot.  But I haven't missed him for a second.  He really can only play at a certain level - his defense in the playoffs was consistently taken advantage of.  CP got injured a lot.  And the CP Bledsoe combination was awesome when it was used after Bledsoe started to mature.

When Bledsoe played with CP he proved that he could play with a PG.  And he proved that again in Phoenix.  He improved his shooting significantly.  He's a great defender - although paired with CP, you have the same length problems that JJ / CP had.  But he's much stronger and quicker and tougher than JJ.

Yes, Joe Ingles was definitely an example of how Doc cannot evaluate talent.  Now that Reggie Bullock is finally playing, he's starting to look good too.  People claim that Austin has improved.  And he has.  But it's almost impossible for a 20 year old to not improve over 5 years if they are getting significant playing time and they know that their leash is so wide, they don't have to panic and press about playing time - so now they can laugh on the sidelines when Blake and DJ and CP are blowing out another team or the 1 out of every 15 games where his one on one stuff is working, he can jog back down the court and mock James Harden.

How much better would Reggie Bullock be now if he was given the long leash that Doc gave Austin?

it's sad, really. when trapp first started out on the espn forums he was a really positive, nice guy. as i recall, he and cam agreed on a lot of stuff at first. but after they started going at each other--on account of the "there can be only one" thing--a really unpleasant side of trapp emerged. vhfs (and mistwell) bring it out in him on this forum. clipanswerman to his "credit" was always an arrogant bastard but he was consistently so. i'm sorry he decided to end his blog--i enjoyed reading it, but it was clearly making him crazy following the clippers.

Naw he's not VFHS. CAM had a lot of genuine insider information on the team, and he was mostly about how fucked up the team was back then. He had a lot to say about team budgets, the cap, trade analysis, cheaping out on hiring of coaches and personal, all that sort of stuff. When Balmer bought the team it was natural CAM took less interest in the team, since most of his Schick was about how the Clippers were the most dysfunctional team in professional sports.

He knew his stuff, but came with a huge chip on his shoulder, ego, and curmudgeonliness.

There was also the time Clipanswerman posted the lyrics to Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start The Fire", but changed it so the lyrics were about Trapp76's "verjeen" (Clipanswerman's word).

They were both nasty to each other.

There was another song a few weeks later.  Maybe that one was from David Bowie's "Space Oddity", but with the lyrics again about Trapp76's alleged anatomy?  Hmm, I think it was another song/artist.

But whatever it was, these examples of their behavior toward each other (taking into account the recap Mistwell posted) shows that it was nastier than what goes on between Trapp76, Mistwell, and VFHS.

Clipanswerman also argued with Mistwell, but I don't think it got personal.

CAM is who he has always been.  His first post sixteen years ago was "I am the answerman on the Clippers and I will answere anything you want to know about them".  Now 16 years later he does the exact same thing.  No maturity whatsoever.  Always the same "my opinion is what is right and anybody who disagrees with me is wrong" type of attitude.  Can't discuss anything with him because he is always right and won't entertain other opinions.  Never could understand that his opinion isn't worth any more than anybody else's opinion despite his superior knowledge.  He is great at expressing and explaining why he is right but terrible at entertaining opinions that differ from his and that may be right.  A lot of this stuff is very subjective.  Jerry West disagrees with him on the Griffin trade.  So he will just ignore that information and continue to believe what he believes about it as an example.

That's not exactly how it went down, nice story though lol.

We actually agreed on a lot of stuff, particularly politics. We also agreed that Kaman was wildly overrated when most of the board disagreed.

In a nutshell, he was stuck in the battered wife syndrome Clipper fan mode of the old days and thought we would always be bad, but I was more optimistic, I knew we could pull out of it and be a successful franchise. He disagreed and we basically battled over that until the point the Clippers did indeed become a successful franchise and he basically had his core thesis of "the clippers will always be a horrible organization" destroyed. Then he left, took his ball and went home (to his own blog).

His identity was already public knowledge at the time, I wasn't exposing anything that wasn't already out there readily available on the internet to begin with, but whatever, water under the bridge....and I would not compare him to VagFHS, he was much more intelligent and well spoken. Vag is just your basic dumb internet troll.

One of the best jokes to come out of Clipanswerman was when his iPad autocorrected Sofosklis Schortsanitis into "sofa".

That also describes how mobile Schortsanitis was, during training camp.

People's perceptions of themselves and their words usually differs from how others perceive them, and it's no surprise you've washed out some of the color in what went down between the two of you. My saying you two were at war with each other pretty much every day and calling each other names is not, I suspect, a minority view of what happened. And while his name was not unknown, his face and making it personal about his looks was. I still say, to this day, that was crossing the line. I was definitely not alone in that opinion either.

Yeah.  But I doubt Clipanswerman asked Trapp76 to ever bee his Facebook friend.  So that would rule out that way of finding out.

Yes, Mistwell has said his name a few times.

I also think he might not remember all of his ClipperTalk/ESPN Facebook friends, and what SN goes with what real name.

Yeah I don't honestly keep track of who is who relative to their real names. I dunno, I feel that's a minor aspect of privacy. Some people want to act one way here and another way on Facebook and I am comfortable with that. Even if there is some level of fiction involved.

Mistwell attempted to post my name and personal info back then for some reason I remember (again inserting himself into an argument that he had zero business being involved in), except he didn't post the correct name or info, lol.

So Mistwell, you should really STFU about posting personal info, you did it yourself (or at least attempted to, and I still can't figure out why exactly when the argument was between CAM and myself, aside from you incessant need to insert yourself into other people's arguments constantly).

Again, there was nothing about CAM at that time that I posted, which wasn't easily accessible from a simple google search, so it really wasn't crossing the line at all.

Yeah pretty much

Are you the type that checks both Facebook PMs, and the main post area?

It seems that some people I know only check the main area, and not their PMs.

Honestly it's hard to check PMs here. There is no notice that pops up. I do check FB PMs though.

I do not recall that at all. How they heck would I have known that information?

Yeah I am calling bullshit on that. I probably made up a funny name and you took it seriously. Because then, like now, jokes go over your head a lot.  And then, like now, you have boundary issues.

HAHAHA if that is a real photo, it's awesome! Is that from the old Quark's Bar at the Las Vegas Hilton? I loved that bar. Was so sad when they took it down and sold off the parts at auction. I did steal a menu from them before they closed though. We make Warp Core Breach drinks sometimes for parties.

You absolutely 100% did. I don't know, because the information was wrong. Not sure how you came up with the name.

You sure it was not a joke? What was the wrong name, do you recall?
