Grizz offer Kyle Anderson a 4 year contract

Now the Spurs have 48 hours to match. Or lose him as well. Things fallen apart in SA? W TP leaving, as well. Uncertainty w Manu and Kawhi?

4/37 is a lot of money for Kyle Anderson and his 8 points a game.

Agree. I’d be surprised if SA matches that.

This year's market has been slow, but in other years MLE for someone like him wouldnt be out of the ordinary.  He doesn't score a lot but he contributes in a lot of ways.  He in long, can defend most positions and switch everything, he rebounds, passes, makes open shoots, and can fit into almost any line up.  As a supporting player he's good and even though hes been around a while, hes still only 24.

I remember being pissed that Doc drafted CJ Wilcox instead of Anderson. I thought Anderson was going to be a nice player. Now, Anderson still hasn't done nearly enough to warrant how much Memphis is paying him and probably never will. But at least he's still in the league, not the D-League, unlike Wilcox.

There have been two players in the last 25 years who have averaged 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 1 block per 36 over a season in significant minutes, Draymond Green and Kyle Anderson.  I wonder if small ball big isn't his best role going forward, he has the length for it.

Anderson was always considered to be too slow to be an NBA player.  Leave it to a coach like Popovich to put him in a role where he could become a useful player.  Not sure what the Grizzlies see in this guy but I doubt that he is very productive in their system.  Reminds me of Cole Aldrich.  Only Doc Rivers could figure out how to make a big man who is too slow and cumbersome to play in the NBA into a productive reserve off of the bench.  TWolves sign him and get absolutely nothing out of him.  Systems and coaching make a world of difference in productivity of players with marginal talent.  Good luck to the Grizz on this signing.  I hope it works out for them.

Aldrich was great for the Kings and Knickerbockers before that.  He was on my wishlist every year since 2012.
