Aaah, now I see the problem.  The best hand specialists are in Germany.

I really don't even want to hear any news or read any articles or reports on Gallo whatsoever. Yeah he's on the team but I'm focused on the rest of the team and the upcoming draft. Gallo is out of sight and mind imo. He's been nothing but a nightmare. He pretty much falls into one of those postive thinking "Erase all negativaty from your life" memes or quotes that's all over social media.

If DJ leaves he will be the highest paid player.

Can we just amnesty this big POS called Gallo. We have a better chance of getting LeBron to clips than having Gallo play even half a season

It hasnt healed because he came back too early. He said it was still hurting but wanted to help us try for the playoffs. I saw him grimacing and wincing several times after he came back

I would love to know the thinking behind this signing. We did a lot of good things so it's not as bad as it could have been, but I hate giving up 1st round picks so you can give big money to a non superstar. Did we really think we were contenders?

Would you be willing to trade Gallo for John Wall, straight up?

Benefits: Gallo has been terrible for us, and Wall is great.

Drawbacks: Wall just signed a Blake Griffen level contract, and it's lopsided in that it pays reasonable right now and then a huge amount later, and would bring him through I think 2023 when he's 32. It will be impossible to trade when he's older.

Interesting question. He's clearly a talented player and far better for Gallo, however he does have that monster contract looming. I don't think his deal would kill you, but you need to be in the right place.

I'd want to have the rest of my team mostly in place before taking on a deal like that because like Detroit now you have no way to upgrade the roster with that much salary on the books. So for us I wouldn't do it because John Wall/Harris/Jordan/Lou isn't really taking you anywhere, but if we got Kawhi and signed someone else then I would if that makes sense.

I think the point of good management is to trade an overpaid player for an expiring contract(s) to a team that needs a star so that your team can open cap room for future stars.

So, no.  Trading an overpaid player for an overpaid player who will cost you $40M in 2020 vs $0 in 2020 is stupid.  Just plain dumbasabagofhammersstupid.

Is John Wall overpaid? I think he has a weird contract, but I am not so sure he's overpaid. He's arguably a top 10 player, was a #1 pick, is in the prime of his career. I can understand the arguments against him concerning salary crunch for the team...but not so sure he's accurately described as overpaid.

He was a top-10 guard 2 seasons ago then dropped off and injured.  What level of guard will he be when he's make $41mil, then $44mil?

No to John Wall. His contract is atrocious on the back end

He is overpaid. but he's not a bad player. If you're an over the cap team it would be fine if you have an owner willing to shell out on luxury tax. Just like Chris Paul will be for the Rockets. Not a guy you'd want to give 40m on the open market, but if it's pay him that or instead only get to replace him with an 8m player then you do it if you're owner is willing to pay so only if you're a contender.

If Wall was the last piece to a championship contender, sure. But we're not even close.

No thanks on a Wall trade. In addition to his toxic contract, he's also injury-prone, not a leader or winner in the playoffs, and has a bad attitude. Nobody seems to like playing with him. The Wizards were sharing the ball more and playing with a lot more joy this year when Wall was out injured and Tomas Satoransky was starting in his place.

Might be best to stay away from adding any huge contracts. Our priority should be to flip our big contracts into smaller ones and draft well and develop.
