How nice. An actual forward.

He can score, but he's a bad defender and pushing 30.  I expect our defense will be a shitshow this coming season.

Tough to interpret defense. They probably think he’s better or at least can be better than you do.

It was always going to be a shitshow ever since we gave a contract extension to a coach who doesn't care about defense.

The guy is a stretch four who can shoot the three pointer at a 40% clip.  Plays 18 minutes a game and scores 9.0 with a PER of almost 14.  This guys is basically a clone of Tolliver who signed with the TWolves.  I guess this is a good signing.  Got us two Wizards on the team now.

Lovely, a mediocre 29 year old to compete for minutes with Harrell who plays no defense. At least it's just one year.

I don’t see him competing with Harrell at all.

He is going to be competing with Gallinari for minutes which means he may get a whole lot of them.  Harrell will need to play center for us.  He will be competing with Boban and Gortat for minutes which means he may have to play 30 minutes a game.  That is if we are able to retain him which is not a certainty.

What is taking so long to lock up Avery Bradley? We need him back

I think we will see a lot of these types of signings for the Clippers this off season. Vets who can be complimentary players for the young guys on short deals.

We should have some good on ball defense in the backcourt, and some versatility on the perimeter too, esp if we can bring back Bradley. But our back line and rim protection are looking rough right now without DJ.

I dont expect too much from our back court defense either, Beverley is good but could miss time, but Lou isnt, and rookies tend to have a steep learning curve even ones with good tools like SGA and Robinson was weak in college.  Our rebounding will likely be poor as well.

Harrell and Scott will be playing next to each other. Harrell will be the Center off the bench and Scott will play the 4.

From the Wizards perspective:

"Scott was an unexpected spark plug off the Wizards bench last year, averaging 8.8 points per game while shooting a career best 52.7 percent from the field. Scott was a priority for the Wizards this offseason, but they were unable to bring him back.

Though it’s unclear what the exact terms of Scott’s deal with the Clippers are, the Wizards weren’t in the best spot to retain him. They didn’t have his full bird rights after just a season in Washington and the team would’ve had to use their mid-level exception to retain him. The Clippers, with enough cap space, were likely able to beat whatever offer the Wizards sent Scott’s way."

Apparently we signed him for $1.89M.  Wizards fans seem pretty pissed their team couldn't pony up that small sum for the guy they claimed to be a priority for this off season. Fans seem to like him there.

While I don't think he is what we currently need, I do think he is the sort of guy we should have used as a back up for our good teams from a few years ago.  Would have been better to have around than Davis or Turkoglu.   I guess if we are dedicated to grinding it out with the Nuggets or Spurs and whoever for an 8th seed, then he works for that, although I'd rather focus on guys with potential to be longer term pieces.

What players currently out on the market would you consider “guys with potential to be longer term pieces” that we wouldn’t have to use significant 2019 cap space on?

Knicks got Mario Hezonja for 1 year, $6.5M. That's the guy I wanted.

They've all agreed to other teams but off the top of my head Noel, Henzonja and Cousins are all on modest one year deals.  Probably some other guys if I looked deeper.  This year is a good year to take some chances on reclaimation projects because expectations are fairly low, but right now we look more focused on fighting the Nuggets and Spurs for the right to get clobbered by Warriors and lose our draft pick.

I wouldn't touch Cousins with a 10-foot pole. He has had a devastating injury, one that many do not come back from, and if they do come back, they come back significantly less effective than their previous selves.

Plus, he's a narcissistic head case.

........because we signed Avery Bradley to a 2 year deal that may only be guaranteed for 1? We haven't really done much so far. I would wait to judge our off-season until we see the entirety of it as a whole.

There's different philosophies on how to go about your rebuild. So far we haven't made too many moves that will impact how much we win either way so we can either go young/risky or bring in vets for at least part of the year for young guys to learn from. You might not want a roster full of young guys with no one to learn from and you may not want an unstable personality like Boogie to cloud the locker room so I can get the moves we've made.

I really think we'll rebuild if we don't get Kawhi, but I don't think the team is going to try to be purposely bad and just sign any mix of players. A good culture is a priority and they don't want to risk the locker room. Whether you believe in it or not is up for debate, but I think without question this FO wants culture.

Can anyone confirm the terms of this contract? How much are we paying him? I haven't seen it reported anywhere unless I missed it.

This article says $4.5M but as their number for Bradley is wrong I don't know how trustworthy it is.

Ok, so that means we only have 4 mill left of our MLE to use and we are about 11 mill under the luxury tax line (we can get further under if we cut Milos and/or CJ Williams).

Mike Scott is 100% a minimum deal, no way we would have given him cap space money

Sportrac has him as a minimum deal but this espn story published today has him at 4.5 mill:

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/23979291/every-deal-all-30-nba-teams-make-2018-free-agency

Would be nice to actually get clarity on this.

Now this site says we signed him for 2.5 mill

LOL, why is it so hard to get an answer on this?
