$13.6, if we waive Milos?

I mean, I am looking at the salaries. It's not adding up to 101. By a fair amount. Where is he getting that?

I mean, here is the list. Subtract DJ. The cap is 101. What am I missing, other than the qual offers to Harrell and Wallace (and this includes MIlos at his full)?

Is there a free agent worth signing for that kind of money?  Keep in mind it would cut into out 2019 money and we still need to extend Tobias and Tez.

Cap hold for Bradley most likely.

I like Mario Hezonja, Seth Curry, and Shane Larkin. All of whom might be had for cheap.

No gaurds. Personally I’d rather look at a guy like Aaron Gordon.

Cap hold for Bradley most likely.

By my count, minus Bradley, CJ Williams, and DJ we are around 84.3.  But that is not counting Tez's cap hold or the two rookies. We can clear 4 million from cutting Milos. If we really wanted a bit more cap space we could stretch cut Wes.

I agree with no guards, especially those listed. As for Gordon, I'd take him too but he will have a lot of competition and I think will be in the 20m range. I think Orlando probably matches anyway especially if it's not huge money

Why is there a cap hold on Bradley, since he's an unrestricted free agent?

There are cap holes on all free agents, but you can renounce them at anytime. Ofcourse renouncing them means you no longer have their bird rights.

Right, but when calculating how much we have to spend if we wanted to under the cap, why wouldn't we assume no cap hold with a release, given that's what we'd do if we wanted to sign someone?

Hezonja might be worth a look, he has the size to play forward and improved significantly last year after rough first couple years.    Payton might good if we move Beverley.  I feel like Phoenix and Orlando are such poorly run organizations its worth taking a chances the guys that didn't t work for them, to see if can get more out of them.

Highly unlikely we move Beverley unless it is for someone like Kawhi.

We definitely need to shore up the SF position.  Hezonja might be a decent addition if as a value-priced backup.  Not sure what the former #5 pick will get offered.

I think he'll do well if he's in a good spread offense.  If the plan is for a run-n-gun bench, not so much.

Maybe I just like his name, Hezonja.

Where is he?

Hezonja hiney.

Sonja Heine?

No, Hezonja hiney! laugh

We should keep Milos.  Better than any free agent we could sign for that price.  We need some veteran leadership at point guard.  Can't count on a rookie to do the job.  Now that DJ and Austin are gone we are going to need some experienced leadership on the team like Milos.  We are not a great free agent destination for players that want to make the playoffs and win right now.  Maybe our best move is to retain Harrell instead of letting some other team outbid us.  Retaining some of our better young players may be the best move we can make instead of trying to outbid other teams for the mediocre players that would be willing to come here.  Hope the rookies pan out and give them big minutes should be the strategy going forward.  And when that results in 25 wins get a high draft pick and keep the rebuilding program going into next summer.  Some of the contracts given out in 2016 were terrible.  In 2017 the Gallinari contract was terrible.  Learn from those mistakes.

I listened to a David Griffin interview this morning and what he said about stretching contracts was not to do it. Be patient. Don't yield to temptation and do it for short term gain, you'll regret it later when you need cap flexibility.  Only do it if you are chasing a title this year and need that one piece now that could help you win it all.

Did you hear the interview on satellite radio?

I've noticed that he's frequently on the NBA station.
