Den -1 O/U 222.5

Pels @ GS   GS -7

now this is a do or die game.  We can still make the playoffs but a lot of things need to happen.  ESPN gives us a 12% chance.

We need to win our last 3 games, Den, Pels, Lakers

We need Pels to lose their last 3 games, @GS, @Clips, Spurs.

We need Denver to go 1-2.  their last 3 games are @Clips, Por, @Minn

It just might happen so lets just win out.  I might go to the game too, going to check out stubhub prices in the morning.  It'll be my first Clipper game of the season.

it really comes down who does GState want to face in the 1st round. Minny or Pelicans.

Warriors vs Pels (Kerr is very good friends w/ Gentry) so he may give in in this game and let the Pels win. And think that playing the Pels is a better fit to face in the 1st round than the Twolves. Of course it's not set in stone, however since they are good friends, he may just let them have this game.

Kerr laid into his team after their last loss in Indy, so doubt they come out flat at home and give one to NO.

Clips beat the Nuggs in Denver last time so we'll see what happens. That was the Boban coming out party game where he scored 18. The team is missin Milos right now big time though and haven't played all that well lately.

Harrell with a multi jump offensive rebound effort!

He passes it to Jordan, who doesn't dunk it and misses the shot.

Jokic with a flying alley oop on the other end.

Denver has attempted too many alley oops today.

All Denver has to do is make 2 passes, and they have an open shot.

Defense just hasn’t been there. We are officially done. Overall, it was a pretty damn good season though all things considered. We hung in a lot longer than I thought we would. Now that we are eliminated officially, we need to make sure and tank the remaining games and get as high of a pick as possible.

No need to tank.  We will get the 13th pick whatever we do.  And I am pretty sure the Pistons are locked at 12.  My keys to the game were posted in the Indiana thread which was stick a fork in us because we are done.  This game just makes it official.  As Bowen said numerous times during the broadcast you can't win if your defense allows that many easy baskets.  Austin does suck as numerous people have been pointing out all year.  At best he is a 16 minute a game reserve shooting guard.  Not a starter on a playoff team in most cases.  I guess his nine assists means he was at least trying to play point guard which is good for him.  We should tank the game Monday to help the Pelicans since Gentry is their coach.  Nuggets have a decent chance at the playoffs now.  They wanted us out since we had the tiebreaker against them and now we are out.  Love to see the Spurs join us as the other team being out of the playoffs.  Not sure that is possible.  A deserving team will not make it in any case.  As for us we really did not deserve to make it this year.  We were only as good as a Lou Williams jump shot or a Montrezl Harrell scoring burst.  Starters never were playoff quality even with Blake.

Welp. It was an exciting season. I’ll be happy for the city I live in if the Nuggs make the playoffs. Lets go Ducks. Clippers will come in strong next season. I need football season to get here. Most of all; GO CLIPPERS!!!

Clippers were as good as long as Marjanovic was on the court.  He got rebounds and made his free throws.

He couldn't stop Denver's shooters either, but that's more of a team defensive problem.  He did what he could.

I guess he couldn't stop Denver from alley oop dunks either, but that's a team defensive problem again.

16 minutes per game? If Austin even gets 16 total minutes in a season, it's an organizational failure.

yeah does look like we are pretty much locked in at 12 and 13, since the eastern teams close to us record wise are all playoff teams, which is good.

It hurts Austin a lot not playing with a bonafide point guard.  He does not get set up for open looks and teams key on him a lot more.  When you play next to CP3 defenses pretty much leave you alone.  When you play with Ty Wallace who can't hit a three pointer if his life depended on it the defense will key on him instead of Wallace.  So Austin needs to play next to a good point guard to even pretend to be acceptable as a starter.  Even playing with Lou Williams helps him a lot.  When Ty or CJ forget about it.

If you had your way, every post by every person would just be that Austin sucks. There is no point trying to satisfy your standards, because your standards are "Destroy the Clippers board, nobody watch the Clippers game, until you get your way". It's insane. You don't even fucking watch the games anymore by your own admission. You don't even know what most of us are talking about most of the time these days because of that, so you just repeat yourself as if it has any fucking meaning anymore. It doesn't.

If you disagree, then you tell me how many people have to say Austin sucks how many times for you to talk about some topic other than this one? I'd love to know the real answer to that question.

Uhhm, CP hit game winning playoff game shots against Memphis and the Spurs, including in game 7.

So, I'm gonna say no on that one.

^for sure on game winning shots. Chris has had more. More like big shots in key moments of the game. I know Chris has had more than Jr but did Blake have more?

One thing you have to give him is Austin did unquestionably show up better than many other guys in the playoffs. We had many guys who did not play as well in the postseason, but he seemed to be better there.

I used to think that too, but then I looked at his career playoff stats: -2.3 BPM, 49% TS, and his scoring always decreased significantly despite taking a similar amount of shots per game. And of course, he still wasn't getting assists, rebounds and steals or playing any defense. Truth is, Austin is just trash regardless of whether it's the regular season or playoffs.

And everytime he showed up we lost that series... so whats the point to make then?

I think people were fooled by him playing against Portland with his eye all stitched up and bloody. The contrast between that and the soft, weak shit we usually saw from CP0 and JJ in the playoffs was undeniable. But the numbers don't back up the narrative of "Playoff Austin." He is even worse in the playoffs than he is in the regular season.

Can't rely on just numbers for everything, he was a guy who did good things on the court. He's more suited to a role of 20 minutes a game than 38 and he can have an impact in those minutes.

If Austin is really a guy who "does good things" on the court, it would show up in the numbers. He wouldn't be a net-negative player for his entire career, that's for sure. It's not like he hasn't played with talented players and had his dad doing everything in his power to showcase him in LA. The Clippers have been the ultimate dream scenario to make Austin look good and he's still a sub-mediocre player.

Reducing his minutes won't make him a better player, it will just limit the damage caused by his inefficient chucking, selfishness and terrible defense. And his minutes will never be reduced as long as Doc's here, anyway.

........or the contrast between that and Blake in a suit on the bench as well.
