Id bet OKC. Has our perimeter D improve? I say no.
Yes. I don't think this game will come down the perimeter defense, but keeping Westbrook/Martin/Durant off the foul line. (Yes, keeping them off the foul line could be about perimeter defense, but I still think they can foul a lot without it being about perimeter defense).
Magic Johnson says the key will be Westbrook. Bill Simmons says Bledsoe.
I say the keys will be DJ and Durant. If DJ gets around 10 points and 10 boards and controls the paint and limits Ibaka's contribution to some extent we will do well. If he's sitting a lot and Turiaf/Odom are playing a lot, we aren't doing so well. If Durant gets off shooting long bombs like he can do, OKC becomes unstoppable for us because we end up scrambling around chasing open wings and our D is broken down. Stay in Durant's grill early and often to inhibit momentum. We can win with our D, but not if Durant is imposing his will.
Of course if Thabo and Martin and Westbrook and Durant get hot behind the arc, all bets are off. Sometimes there is nothing you can do.
And another thing, like the Knicks are learning as the Heat come back from 11 down: don't trot and don't complain while coming back on defense. We have some trotters and complainers and OKC's fast-breaking weapons will make them pay for slacking off.
Lol, Hubie said he would put Griffin in the game with 2 fouls to put pressure on the REFS.
Jeff Van Gundy has said similar things, during his broadcasts, over the years.
FYI, I Sam Cassell once had 5 fouls called just in the 4th quarter. He entered the quarter with one foul, and left the game with about 4 minutes to go, for Minnesota.
Steve Nash once had 4 fouls early in the 2nd.
Dalembert, Noah, have had 4 fouls by halftime before.
Nash and Cassell though are the only guards that come to my mind, quickly, with a lot of fouls called in a short period of time.
Oh, I forgot about Billups. Game 7 of the 2005 NBA Finals, Billups and Rasheed were in foul trouble the entire game. Billups either had 4 fouls by halftime, or got his 4th foul early in the 2nd half.
That's part of the reason why Detroit couldn't take the lead. 2 of their best 3 players were in foul trouble.

Chris Paul has done something similar. (put pressure on the ref not to call a foul).
He could audibly be heard telling the ref, "C'mon that was my 3rd foul now.) And it was basically warning the ref not to call another one.

During a Minnesota-Lakers 2003 playoffs game, a ref once asked whether that was Shaq or Rasho's 5th foul (I think the ref was asking about Shaq, but it could have been Rasho). There was a controversy afterward, because the analysts asked why the ref needed to know how many fouls that was. They felt he should have made the call first, then checked whether that person fouled out.
I probably wouldn't be able to find a video of it, but if I saw a rebroadcast, we could then examine if something looked fishy. Perhaps it didn't go down exactly as I said it did, or as the broadcasters said it did.

Definitely don't foul.
But we need to defend the three better here.
We should also consider a liberal use of Bledsoe.

Early game... I missed it. :(

uh its tomorrow.

1. Don't foul
2. Defend the three-ball, neutralize K-Mart
3. Do not give Westbrook any good shots, make him suffer.
4. Rebound rebound rebound. Don't let OKC get second chance shots.
5. put REO Speedwagon on blast in OKC's locker room at half time :)

Line is LAC -2.5

Rhy1244, if you see a Griffin bank shot, can you update this thread?

Go away Mike Tirico.

I'll try to remember.

This is a big game for us mentally. We were really humiliated vs the spurs and heat. We need this win badly.

Paul will always have confidence.

Hubie Brown. :)

Blake Griffin fouls Kevin Durant.

No team is looking intense or sharp in the first 2 minutes.
to vote
I disagree, Hubie. Clippers are getting bad looks.

Caron drives and scores.

Thunder try to foul Griffin, but still, no foul called.

Chauncey for 3 and Chris from the top of the key are good looks.

Odom with 2 even quicker fouls. Wow.

Griffin 2 fouls, Odom 2 fouls
Thunder defense has been too good.

If I was in a better mood, we could make a shots game out of this.
(I don't want to do it if the Clippers are going to lose big).

Odom to Chris Paul with a driving shot.

Billups fouls Ibaka, +1.

So from these fouls, 1/2 of them are when the Clippers are mis-matched.

Good patience by DJ.
He made sure to gather himself before the dunk.

...I don't agree with the 3rd foul on Odom.
He was pretty straight up. You have to be allowed to defend and just stand there.
Hollins??

Bring Griffin back in,,! he can play with fouls and keep from fouling..! VDN is not a good adjustment coach.

Bring Blake back with 2 fouls.
Letting blake play in the second half is stupid if we are already down too much.

Crawford makes a rainbow shot. It's a bad shot, but he made it.

Sefolosha forces Crawford to lose the ball.
For the most part, the Thunder just look more athletic and quicker, at both ends of the floor.

Get Hollins in for stonehands Turiaf. He cost us eight easy points.

Both are on the court for some inextricable reason.
