I had a dream last night about this game. For some reason, Shaun Livingston was back in a Clipper Jersey and he locked down Westbrook the whole game. I translate this to Bledsoe having a great defensive game OR a former Clipper like Matt Barnes or Lamar Odom will have an excellent game.
The game in my dream ended with the Thunder winning by a basket, because the ref wouldn't count a Blake Griffin tip in on the last play. I don't know what that means, but I'm going to ignore that part of my dream :)
Line has the Thunder by 2.0. For a game like this I expected the Clippers by 1.0 (the Vegas equivalent of who the fuck knows). They obviously see something little, maybe Paul being gimpy, if he is, I hope he sits tonight. But my fingers are crossed he can go.
VDN always seems to have a solid game plan against the Thunder, so here's hoping.
I hope CP sits tonight, or at least comes off the bench (and only if needed and for limited minutes.) I think he's right, playing gimpy against GSW hurt the team a lot more than it helped. Not that Bledsoe was having such a great game, but at least he hurt the team less than CP did. And, for damn sure, Bledsoe would be better out there against Westbrook than a gimpy Paul.
Playing against 3-pt shooting teams is a Clippers vulnerability. Last night we played the best 3-pt shooting team in the NBA (.393 on 20 attempts,) tonight we play the second-best 3-pt shooting team in the NBA (.388 on 19.5 attempts.)
I think the way we beat them tonight by being pesty, disrupting their rhythm, frustrating them, deflections, steals, blocks, and outlasting them with fresher legs after their two OT games in a row. Perkins and Westbrook are two thin-skinned players who are vulnerable to irritation and annoyance. Griffin can get under Perkins' skin and Bledsoe can get under Westbrook's.
With CP hurt, others are going to have to step up big time. At least two Clippers need to have a much better game than usual, and the bench needs to be as good as they've been all year.
Keeping TOs to a minimum and rebounds to a max would certainly help a lot!

Oh, and one more thing, implement my new Rule of 2: Every time Odom shoots the ball from more than 2 feet away from the basket with more than 2 seconds left on the shot clock, send him back to the bench for 2 minutes to think about it.

The battle for first place in the Western Conference...
Both teams have 13-6 road records, and have similar home records (we have one more loss).

From MATT BARNES
"When your leader goes down, everyone else has to step up. Big game 2nite #1 vs #2, last game went to OT. It's our turn
#Clips"Guessing CP3 is a no go for tonight. First word I can find.

Opening line was Clips -2 and later moved to +1.

For what it's worth,
as far as I can tell, the Clippers have not lost a game in which I started the game thread since we've moved to Clippertalk.

This is one icy cold Clipper team, especially the bench.

Nice string of layups. That'll fix the blank shooting.

Wow take the point off the board....!

bledsoe bricking everything

Why not let Green play more

Why so much bledsoe and so little Crawford?

Griffin is asserting himself, like an alpha male
16pts 8reb 4asts 4/4 from the line!

Crawford's been frigid ice cold and he doesn't pass it. He's like Kobe with less passing and less rebounding.
He's been getting blocked a lot over that last few games, too.

The bigs have been pretty good. Guards need to play better, agree.
Great avatar.

Props to Caron on his defense tonight.
Clips are doing some good stuff, nice defense, nice passing, just cold.

WTH IS BLEDSOE DOING OUT THERE

KMart and Collison killed us. Somebody better guard those boys tight in the 2nd half.

Thanks bro
GIVE GRIFFIN THE BALL!!! STOP SHOOTING IT ERIC!

Let Ibaka and Collison tally up fouls and put them in foul trouble.
Crawford needs to step it up, if he goes cold again this game is over.

Looks like the old griffin offense.
"here's the ball, make something happen."

Good move by Griffin.

I used to say "stop shooting" to Mardy Collins, a few years ago.

It's the best option right now.
I'd also use Butler more too, considering the options.

OMG
this horrible defense is making Sefolosha look like Reggie Miller....

no crawford, no win.
he has to drop 20 in the 4th or this is over.

bledsoe is no cp3....thus a trade in the summer for another backup and a lotto pick is fair.

The guys just don't seem to have rhythm, and maybe tired... Hope they get it together.

Fastballs are also the best pitch in baseball, but you still need another one.

LETS GO CLIPPERS!! LETS GO!!

The Thunder were just relentless. They played well.
105-95, still a few minutes left, but you just can't get in a hole like that in the 4th.

Too little too late I am afraid... Clippers were just not playing their best ball. Still time for a Miracle though...Did you guys say your prayers..?
to vote
BTW SamIAm19, I'd seen that pic before. But I've always wondered, was that from a real game, or was it photoshopped? What game was it from?
to vote
Not for a regular season game. Can't have them answered all the time. I'd save mine for a playoffs game.

OKC is good man.
Great job by Barnes drawing the offensive fouls.

Well I guess that means a Miracle tonight is from another Clippers prayers...! ha ha...
