This better not be a replay of the Phoenix series. Where we went through all the trouble of gaining homecourt advantage in game 2 at Phoenix and then promptly lost it back in the opening game at Staples Center. Needless to say this game is critical. I got some good seats on Ebay and am actually going to the game in person. It should be pretty loud and intense if it is anything like the last playoff game I attended.
Don't underestimate the Grizzlies ability to win this game. They have a physical style that is tough for us to deal with. We shot well and still lost. We need to outrebound them this game and cut down on the turnovers. Limit those second chance points. Need better boxing out by Jordan instead of him trying to block all the shots. Go Clippers.
Much better to let them make the initial shot than allow an offensive rebound. Less shame that way.
One problem with our rebounding is our points/wings, last game for example we got a total of 5 rebounds from our PGs, SGs and SFs, while Memphis got 17 from theirs. In game 1, when we outrebounded them, our perimeter players held their own. This is something that has been problem most of the season, everyone on the team needs to contribute to rebounding. It might be worth playing Bledose more and Williams less to make up for out disadvantage at SF.
I think we knew last game wasn't a must win, and played that way on the boards.
As a side note, Memphis has some whiny fans. They boo every call that goes against them no matter how obvious a call it was. It is strange. It definitely isn't that way everywhere either.
We just need to play with desperation type urgency with the rebounds and we should take game 3. It would be nice to limit the turnovers too, but I'm not sure we can do that.
I wonder how all of our banged-up elbows and thumbs are feeling. IIRC, Mo, Bled, and Noodles all got hurt. And they took out Caron's hand in the first game. What is up with the Memphis maim game?

How stable is the board here? If it cuts out one more time, maybe returning to ESPN should be done. Really sucks to miss out on these game threads during the playoffs of all times.
The decision was made after Butler practiced Friday and after he saw a hand specialist Thursday, the sources said. Butler, who is right-handed, did some shooting at practice with a brace on his hand.
Butler was injured in the third quarter of Game 1 in Memphis on Sunday and the original diagnosis was that he would be sidelined four to six weeks recovering from the injury, putting his return in late May at the earliest.
Butler was told by the specialist that if he injured the hand any further that the time frame for him to return would most likely remain the same, the sources said.
(I can't watch the game right now, as I'm watching IND-ORL, and I can't switch to ESPN News neither because I'm also recording the Kentucky Derby. So I'm already using my two DVR channel tuners for other programs).
When there is over time; The second game just is never available on line... I assume they all use the same streaming connection. That does kind of surprise me..
I've got game at 9-8 Clippers lead ahead 6:43.....
I hate both offenses for both ORL (without Dwight Howard) and Indiana. But the last 5-6 minutes (regulation and 4+ minutes of overtime) have been good.
That is preferable yes.. But that " long jumper" was too strong by Griffin.. Hardly ever see him miss them being strong, usually he's short.. He might be feeling it today..!
What did Barry say.....Griffin cannot score with Gasol on him....? Did not Griffin just get 8 points the quarter...? Yes Griffin like all players have problems shooting over tall players....But Gasol is slow, and Griffin can got right around him and lay it up.
Barry once said, Griffin is too small, being only 6-7- Barry is in a anti Griffin mode....But his kids like Griffin. Once heard him complain because that was whom his children wanted to see play...!
Griz gave us their best play in 1st quarter.. Still Griz down by 1..

Rhy1244, will you be posting live?
I don't think I saw you much in game threads, the last month.

90% yes for weekend games.

Cool. Let's set up one of those in-game wagers so I can use that Kirkland Bourbon or Kirkland Champagne Rose.

Yes, Noodles is Nick's nick.

That's probably an unpopular opinion, but seems better than crashing other people's board. ESPN is dead at least

We're finally on a new server.
So everything should be fine.... faster even.

Caron Butler to start for Clippers despite injury
Caron Butler will be in the starting lineup Saturday for the Clippers in Game 3 of the playoffs against the Memphis Grizzlies at Staples Center despite a fractured left hand, said sources who were not authorized to speak publicly on the situation.
The decision was made after Butler practiced Friday and after he saw a hand specialist Thursday, the sources said. Butler, who is right-handed, did some shooting at practice with a brace on his hand.

Thank goodness. Butler is very importnat to having a chance to advance past the 2nd round (if the Clippers got past the 1st too, that is).

My pre-series prediction was Clippers in 5, but the Butler injury deflated my prediction a bit. Good to see he's back early in the series.

I was late to the game because of that one too.
Just invoke lawler's law and call it a game.

Lol. It's overtime of that game though, both teams are tied at 99.
Pretty good game.

Do you have ESPN or ESPN News? You can watch it on cable.
But you might not have that.

Rhy1244, if I lose the Jordan blocks / Paul steals bet, should I have the Kirkland Bourbon, or Champagne Rose? (I hope you don't mind me asking you.)

Wait, which side am I on, Jordan's blocks or Chris Paul's steals? (Just to clarify)

It was a haggle/no haggle type of thing. Mike Smith's claim was tha a Spurs and OKC series was unavoidable.
